I first came into contact with the world of gemstones at the age of 13 - as a young vacation jobber at the Heinz Bros. company in the Weiherschleife. Now, a good 50 years later and after various jobs in the jewelry and gemstone industry, I have come full circle by passing on my knowledge of precious stones and minerals and my enthusiasm for their fascinating charisma to the visitors of the Weiherschleife.

As a native of Idar ("von der Lay") I am very interested in the historical and economic development of our district and the stories and tales about local "originals", some of which I was still able to personally meet.

I have always been particularly fascinated by the internationality of the gemstone industry: gemstones from all over the world are imported and then exported again all over the world to be processed in our region.

A particularly beautiful place in our beautiful city for me is the area of the Bismarck Tower - here I like to dwell and enjoy the view over the city.
