Family tour around the WasserWissensWerk

The approximately 5 km long tour first leads along the themed trail "Wasserkraft" (water power), which starts at the entrance portal of the dream loop "Köhlerpfad am Steinbach". The route continues to the water playground of the WasserWissensWerk, which invites young and old explorers to splash around and cool off.

In the WasserWissensWerk with interactive hands-on stations, visitors learn everything worth knowing about water extraction and treatment, water distribution in the region and how our limited and valuable resource is worth protecting. In the WaterLab, exciting experiments and water tests can be carried out on the subject of the "properties of water". After the visit to the WasserWissensWerk, of course, a view of the nearby Steinbach Dam is not to be missed. The dam, which is used to treat drinking water, is located on the edge of the Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park and in the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park.

The trail continues on a section of the dream loop "Köhlerpfad am Steinbach" back in the direction of the WasserWissenswerk and on to the district of Kempfeld-Katzenloch. The tour ends with a well-deserved stop in the garden restaurant at the waterfall. In the gallery at the old sawmill you can expect changing exhibitions in the gallery rooms, grinding demonstrations in the own grinding shop and a mineral market.

Important: Due to the narrow nature trails, the parts of the "Köhlerpfad am Steinbach" suggested for this tour are not suitable for strollers or buggies. The WasserWissensWerk is barrier-free accessible.
