Hike in the footsteps of one of the most famous individuals to live during the Middle Ages. The Hildegard of Bingen pilgrimage route connects the places of activity attributable to the abbess, poet, theologian, naturopath and herbalist Hildegard von Bingen.

The roughly 140-kilometre hiking trail commences in Idar-Oberstein and leads you via Niederhosenbach – the family seat and possible birth place – onwards to the Disibodenberg monastery ruins an on towards Bingen on the Rhine. While on route, you will learn more about the people, the work and the lives of those who lived in the Middle Ages.
