Trekking-Camps in Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park

There are three trekking camps in the Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park. Overnight stays in the wild nature of the Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park are only allowed here.
Locations
The trekking camps are located between Kempfeld and Otzenhausen and can be linked together as part of a hike. Arrival and departure is conveniently possible via the train stations Idar-Oberstein and Türkismühle.
However, the trails and camps are not signposted - anyone wishing to spend the night there must book a place in advance via an online platform. The hiker then receives a booking confirmation and the directions for the "last mile", i.e. access to the respective camp, by e-mail.
Well equipped with a hiking map, GPS device, tent, sleeping bag, sufficient water and food, nothing stands in the way of the adventure "National Park up close".
Hiking
Hike the Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park, for example from Idar-Oberstein train station. Tour suggestions for the hiking routes to the camps and GPX-Files can be found on www.nlphh.de/trekkingcamps.
Booking: It is possible to stay overnight at the trekking camps from April 1st to October 31st. A reservation in advance is required.

Cost: € 15,- per platform. Only one overnight stay is allowed per camp.
Please note: The camps are located away from the villages, hidden in nature and can only be reached by foot. Trekkers are responsible to bring their own water and food and waste disposal. It is forbidden to make fire.
