We would like to inform you about the Corona-related changed opening hours and special features of the sights in EdelSteinLand to be considered before visiting.

We try to be as up-to-date as possible, but can not guarantee 100% completeness. All information is based on our current knowledge and is constantly updated.

Current opening hours and special information of the sights in EdelSteinLand:

Guided tours in EdelSteinLand will not take place until further notice. This concerns among other things the Herrstein and Idar-Oberstein guided tours, the guided walk on the medieval path and also the city tour.

Herrenberg Visitor Mine: registration required,by phone at 06544 - 9272 or 06544 - 286 or by e-mail at, guided tours take place at 11:30 and at 14:00 or by appointment. Masks compulsory on the entire premises, no testing compulsory. Food and beverages "to go" only, seating areas are closed.

German Gemstone Museum: Tuesday to Sunday and public holidays, each from 10:30 - 17:00. Mask obligation, no test obligation, no registration, maximum 80 persons, inquiries under: 06781 900 980, Further information:

German Mineral Museum: Open daily from 10am - 5pm, registration required, masks required, no test needed. Further information:

Gemstone Experience World: weekdays 9 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sat. 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Wearing a medical face mask or FFP2 (or equivalent) mask is mandatory. No registration, no testing required. For inquiries, call 06781-2050.

Prospecting Gemstone Adventure World: weekdays 9 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sat. 10 a.m.-6 p.m. 

Gemstone Mines Steinkaulenberg: Open daily 10 am - 5 pm (last tour 4 pm). Registration in advance is required - by phone 06781/47400 or by mail Wearing a medical face mask or FFP2 (or equivalent) mask is mandatory for visitors during the tour and throughout the plant premises. Mandatory testing (or proof of Corona infection in the last 6 months, or full vaccination coverage). Maximum group size 10 persons. Further information:

Gemstone Camp Steinkaulenberg: The above measures also apply to the gemstone camp and prospecting field. Max. Group size here 15 persons.

Fossil Museum Bundenbach: Registration required: by phone at 06544 - 9272 or 06544 - 286 or by e-mail at, masks required throughout the site. No compulsory testing.

Goldbach's wines and stones: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 14 - 18 clock, weekends and holidays 10 - 18 clock and by appointment. Fischbach copper mine: Daily 10 am - 5 pm. Guided tours take place for the time being only at 10:15, 12:15, 14:15 and at 16:15. WasserWissensWerk: Currently closed. Wednesday through Sunday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Mouth/nose protection is required for entry, maximum of 10 people can be in the exhibit rooms at one time. For more information:

Wildfreigehege Wildenburg: Daily 9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.; negative, certified corona test (not older than 24h) and telephone reservation is required for ticket allocation: 06786/7212. The commented feedings and guided tours will not take place for the time being. Masks are compulsory on the entire premises. The maximum number of visitors is limited.
