Test center at the Harfenmühle campsite

The test center of the Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park Region, opened in 2021, can be found at the Harfenmühle campsite, in the old barn. Here you have the opportunity to equip yourself with hiking boots, clothing, trekking poles, backpacks, etc. for test purposes and try out the high-quality equipment directly on site during a hike.

"Best of Wandern" is an association of 10 hiking regions in Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland, which offer hiking pleasure far away from mass tourism and hectic. For more than 14 years, the experience cooperation has inspired hikers throughout Europe. The special at the service: In the test centers of the partner regions, you can borrow equipment from leading outdoor manufacturers free of charge and try it out on your tours.

Test high-quality hiking boots for a day, borrow a backpack or child carrier and much more - our dream loops are the ideal test routes!

Among the rental items you will find numerous articles from well-known outdoor outfitters.

All items are available in large quantities. A reservation by phone under 06786/1304 is recommended to make sure that the desired article is not already on the Saar-Hunsrück Climb or one of the dream loops on the hiking day.

Closed from 11/03/2021 to 12/14/2021.
